Until September 2022 the fund was called the "Maximum Impact Fund".
GiveWell searches for and evaluates interventions and programmes in need of funding that save or improve the most lives. GiveWell carries out thorough independent research on promising programmes, freely and publicly available on its website. GiveWell was founded in 2007. Since then, donors have given more than 2.6 billion US dollars to the organisations and programmes it recommends.
The GiveWell fund supports the four organisations and interventions that GiveWell considers most impactful:
Every few months, GiveWell grants the fund's donations to one or more of these organisations, wherever it judges the need to be greatest.
Many charity evaluators (including GiveWell) recommend that donors give to a fund rather than to a single organisation, because this allows resources to be directed according to the latest research on cost-effectiveness and funding needs, so that money gets to the right organisation at the right time.
We simplify tax-deductible giving from Estonia to the world's most effective charities. On our platform you can donate to several organisations at once and choose how your donation is split between them. Donations made through Anneta Targalt are automatically included in your Estonian tax return. Donating through Anneta Targalt has no transaction fees, and because we pass the donations collected so far on to the charities once a quarter, the transfer fees stay minimal thanks to the larger amounts.
